Want to know how models prepared for this season’s SS19 Fashion Week across the fashion capitals? Ahead of their shows, we provided the MVBabes with a global edition of Get Fired Up, our exclusive fitness bootcamp, ensuring that each model was physically and mentally prepared for their next castings, fittings and to hit the catwalks in NYC, London, Milan and Paris.
The bootcamp ensured that as each model travelled across the fashion capitals, they could rely on Model Village to provide an intense workout led by world-leading professionals all while discovering our brand partners Gymshark, Halo, Tenzing and Squirrel Sisters. Across each city, the MVBabes experienced a range of different workouts for a complete programme, consisting of HIIT, core work, strength training, boxing and meditation. These unique experiences ensured that each model found something that suited their preference and provided them with a full-body workout tailored specifically for their needs.
After each session, the models also benefited from a tailored nutrition focused talk, which enlightened them on the importance of wellness and eating well, a key focus for models during Fashion Week, which is a naturally intense period for most models.

A POWERFUL START WITH ROWING IN NYC
Get Fired Up started with a strong performance as the MVBabes gathered in NYC to experience the first part of the programme hosted at City Row. The MVBabes each received a bespoke Gymshark kit, creating an all-black army of models ready to take on the workout.
As a studio, City Row is well-known for combining activities like yoga and pilates with intervals on its WaterRowers, providing the perfect combination of workouts to push the MVBabes to their limits. The 50 min triple threat workout included intervals of mat work which consisted of free weights, planking and squats coupled with intervals on the rowing machines to provide the ultimate experience. The models also ensured they took regular intervals to stretch and hydrate, as they discovered the benefits of Halo.Sport. This new super premium energy drink delivered a revolutionary way of hydrating the models, a key necessity to ensure their bodies were fuelled with the right fluids to regulate their body temperature and lubricates.
MVBabe Katya Kulyzhka revealed her top workout tips for fashion models after one of the sessions:
- Try and work out daily, mixing your routine so it includes cardio, HIIT and bodyweight exercises.
- It is also so important to stay hydrated, so drink lots of water, before during and after your workout.
- Make sure to stretch before each session.
- In general, I would advise models to eat clean, stay healthy and don’t cave in for cheat days!
A HIIT INDOOR WORKOUT IN LONDON
The MVBabes then travelled to London to experience Get Fired Up in British capital which was hosted at Factory45, a unique warehouse space transformed into a multipurpose space where fitness and art meet fashion. The MVBabes were each gifted an ombre Gymshark set in either grey or pink and experienced a six-session challenge, with a workout which was specifically tailored for the models’ needs, as a fitness instructor, Sana Shirvani devised a unique regime so they could experience a full-body workout. Sana then provided the models with some valuable nutrition advice, underlining the importance of staying hydrated, eating the right types of protein and nutritive ingredients and getting enough sleep to keep skin looking good.
The 45 minute HIIT session was composed of body weight exercises such as push-ups, lunges, boxing and duo core work. The whole programme helped build their endurance, gradually increasing the models’ heart rate and loosened their joints to help them prepare for the season and prevent any injuries.
During each session, the MVBabes also stayed hydrated with Tenzing a new energising drink which has a clever mix of natural caffeine, electrolytes and anti-oxidants. The brand was named in honour of Sherpa Tenzing Norgay, who is one of the first two men to scale the world’s highest mountain and was famed for his burning ambition.
Squirrel Sisters were also ready to refuel the MVBabes throughout each session with their delicious and nutritious snack bars. The company originally started as a blog and in 2014 quickly gained such a large following that the two sisters, Gracie & Sophie Tyrrell decided to build their own snack bars, which have since won 2 Great Taste Awards, so you can guarantee that they taste delicious and are a great, healthy alternative for your everyday snack.
After each workout, the models then had a chance to relax and unwind with Yogi2Me. Yogi2Me is the first company in the well-tech industry focused on providing high-quality Yoga teachers straight to your door, and enabled the models to experience a mixture of yoga sessions over the various classes. The experience helped increase their mental awareness as they improved their flexibility, built muscle strength and perfected their posture – valuable assets which are essential for fashion models, particularly during fashion week.
AN URBAN JUNGLE IN MILAN WITH SUPER MODEL TRAINER PAOLO ZOTTA
In Milan, the MVBabes experienced an outdoor workout with Paolo Zotta, who is an internationally renowned fitness instructor. Paolo is famous for his outdoor model-workout sessions in Milan and has even trained supermodels such as Karlie Kloss. The models wore Gymshark’s Aspire kit, which had beautiful pastel tones and fit in perfectly with the urban jungle surroundings they would work out in.
Paolo described how he believes that strong eye contact is the key to success when training supermodels.
In a world where people glance at smartphones every few minutes, body language has a huge impact on others and I use this to communicate attention, care and respect!
Paolo brought the MVBabes together to experience an exclusive outdoor experience, with a mixture of high-intensity sessions, so they could experience a natural workout which included a mixture of beneficial regimes. Thanks to his established history of training supermodels, Paolo was able to create a powerful combination of workouts for the MVBabes, ensuring they were pushed to their limits and experienced the ultimate workout before the shows.
The sessions included a-high intensity 45 minute HIIT session which also included floor work, strength training and boxing. These powerful workout combinations guaranteed each model gained an impactful experience so they could be sure to storm the catwalk this season.
A BOOTCAMP TO FINISH OFF IN PARIS
For the final step of Get Fired Up in Paris, the MVBabes experienced an indoor bootcamp in the centre of the fashion capital.
The bootcamp took place at Midtown studios, which is the first Parisian gym entirely dedicated to an indoor bootcamp and aims to provide an intense, tailor-made array of training exercises which focus on providing a comprehensive experience with an efficient results-based approach.
The bootcamp focused on creating an innovative regime which included 50% cardio and 50% muscle strengthening. This allowed the models to develop their strength, endurance and burn up to 1000 calories per session.
The models powered their performance by exclusively wearing Gymshark gear, receiving the final collection in Paris to complete their Get Fired Up experience. The models wore the Energy Seamless Sports collection, combining beautiful designs with the brand’s innovative seamless technology.
Each session lasted 45 mins, enabling the models to develop their strength and endurance so they could be in shape for their last week of shows for the season.
