Luxury fashion and beauty pioneer Chanel has just hosted its latest Parisian event during which a select number of Model Village Members received exclusive access to attend.
Chanel held a pop-up, Coco Game Club on the rooftop of Galeries Lafayette on June 21 dedicated to their beauty range. The event celebrated the international brand in the centre of Paris, overviewing iconic Parisian monuments such as the Haussmann Opera and Eiffel Tower. Coco Game Club is part of the wide a ‘Music Machine’ festival, organised by Galeries Lafayette and DJ Pedro Winter, bringing together fashion and music lovers in the famous department store from June 11-24 in Paris.
MV Model Members received exclusive access to attend the bespoke beauty event, as Chanel sought a guest list of global, inspiring and dynamic talent composed of singers, models and creative individuals who all had a strong passion and admiration for the brand.
The Model Village Members met at Triadou Haussmann, a popular Parisian cafe located only a few minutes away from Galeries Lafayette just before the event. The influencers were full of anticipation and excitement and keen to learn more about Chanel’s ethos and discover the Coco Game Club event.
The influencers then arrived at Galeries Lafayette to witness an overwhelming iconic rooftop scene, offering an exceptional makeup-experience, an exclusive concert and arcade-inspired games.
International model and actor Willy Cartier
Amongst the prestigious MV Model Members to attend the event was androgynous beauty Willy Cartier, who blew up in 2010 when he was chosen by Givenchy‘s Riccardo Tisci for his fall/winter campaign. The same season, Willy was tapped by Benetton and Evian for high-profile commercials that turned him into one of the most ubiquitous faces in the modelling industry. Willy has since worked with international brands such as Nike and continues to secure his name in the Parisian film industry after appearing in blockbuster movies such as Des milliards de toi mon poussin.
Artist Sang Woo Kim
Cartier bonded with the popular Korean artist and MV Model Member, Sang Woo Kim who has a unique style of artistic vision which is primarily focused on the challenges of identity. Sang balances the duality of his creative professions with the realities of being a Korean immigrant brought up in London whilst working for international brands such as Burberry, Diesel, DKNY and Dolce & Gabanna as he completed his studies at Goldsmiths and Central St Martins.
In 2018 Sang collaborated with Coach to create a mural for the #CoachSiganture W Korea exhibition. The mural featured signature faces who inspire Sang which he then designed and entwined within Coach’s monogram in order to celebrate unification and togetherness. With the use of Coach’s signature ‘chain’ Sang visualised how his mural would reflect how people, race and individuality should be celebrated together and not against each other.
