A BIT ABOUT WILLIAM:
HOW OLD ARE YOU?
WHO IS YOUR MOTHER AGENCY?
Soul, New York City
WHERE IS YOUR HOMETOWN?
I’m from a small town called Ampthill in Bedfordshire
WHAT IS ONE FACT ABOUT YOURSELF?
I have domestic prowess, cooking cleaning, I got it!
MV ASKS: WHEN AND WHERE DID YOU FIRST GET SCOUTED AND WHAT WAS YOUR REACTION?
I actually went to an agency party with two of my best friends for W Model Management and they got in touch after that. It was one of those genuine great feelings to be honest, a lot of unknown excitement.
MV ASKS: WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR MOST MEMORABLE MODELING EXPERIENCE SO FAR?
Probably first flying to NYC to sign with Soul. The whole rollercoaster of flying to a major fashion city and meeting brands and magazines, you’d never think were achievable.
MV ASKS: AS A MALE MODEL, HOW DO YOU MANAGE YOUR CONTENT ON SOCIAL MEDIA? DO YOU USE ANY APPS WHICH YOU CAN RECOMMEND?
I’ll be honest, I’ve been winging it!
I now have some help from Premier in London which is great. In terms of editing apps I only really use VSCO, great range of filters. I like to keep the images I take myself to be as real as possible.
MV ASKS: HOW DO YOU TRAIN BEFORE A PHOTO SHOOT AND WHAT IS YOUR GO-TO GYM ROUTINE?
My training remains very consistent, I don’t fluctuate too much.
However, my last workout before a shoot will be targeting the whole body, lighter weights, and more reps. And definitely go for a long run to sweat out any water weight.
My go-to gym routine right now is a lot of running, body weight exercises and the odd CrossFit session.
I’m trying to lose some size to help with my modelling. Trying to fit more clothes!
MV ASKS: HOW DID YOU FIRST GET INTO RUGBY?
I first got into rugby when I was six years old and it had pretty much been a constant in my life until this time last year. A series of concussions and life choices forced me to stop playing, but I wouldn’t change anything!
MV ASKS: WHAT ADVICE DO YOU HAVE FOR ASPIRING MALE MODELS WHO WANT TO GET SIGNED?
My advice would be to know what you can and can’t change,
Never get disheartened and be true to yourself and values.
The reason for the above is that you can aspire to be the best version of yourself but also be realistic. Going to castings and not getting them or being optioned for a big brand and not getting the job doesn’t feel good. But just being in that pool of consideration means something is coming. The last one is that
Your self respect is most important, and you shouldn’t get comfortable feeling uncomfortable. Do things that make you happy.
MV ASKS: WHAT DO YOU THINK IS ONE MISCONCEPTION ABOUT THE MODELING INDUSTRY?
The main misconception is that it’s an easy ride I think. It has a glossy exterior and it looks great and can sound great.
However, nothing is guaranteed, work isn’t guaranteed and you can be traveling far and wide for short periods to make things work.
MV ASKS: WHY DO YOU THINK INSTAGRAM IS A POWERFUL TOOL FOR MODELS IN 2018?
Instagram has become one big advert and its reach is huge. The flip has switched, it’s a great way for brands to be seen and noticed.
Having a bigger following means brands can add posts to the job, or just send you items to be posted on your Instagram.
It’s a powerful tool and you have to keep on top of it!
MV ASKS: WHAT IS YOUR LIFE MANTRA/QUOTE?
I looked at my family name and it’s crest and origin recently and the quote was ‘fortune favours the bold’. I like to implement that into my decisions big or small.
MV ASKS: DO YOU HAVE ANY EXCITING PROJECTS LINED UP FOR 2019 WHICH YOU CAN SHARE WITH US?
The main thing I’m looking forward to in 2019 is getting my U.S. Visa and being in Los Angeles with my girlfriend and our Frenchie puppy! I’m hoping this leads to bigger and better jobs too!
MV ASKS: WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO JOIN MODEL VILLAGE AND WHY WOULD YOU ADVISE OTHER MODELS TO JOIN OUR COMMUNITY?
It’s a community of people in the same business. Life and work are a lot better when you’re helping and being helped by others, not going against the grain. It’s a great way to see upcoming events, eat at great restaurants and provides a platform to earn money through your Instagram. What’s not to love?
